Horse Avatar Update
11 January 2011

Hullo! Seems the last update had a fight with an earlier feature and one of them lost. There's now a new update that affects the AO only, which stops the stand animations overriding the sleep, kick and rear animations. Wear your horse av and click the Update button on the avatar vendor to get yours.

As always, the models in the main vendor are all up-to-date, so if you bought one after this message, no need to update! (or at least until something else needs fixing..!)

New riding horse - Atlas
2 January 2011

Please welcome our first horse for 2011, stunning mapaloosa Atlas!

Atlas can be ridden in English or Western tack, and has the usual markings HUD allowing you to choose from 4x lengths of leg markings PLUS six different facial continients (and that's the first time I've ever typed that phrase).

Flow hair for horse avatars
2 January 2011
flow

New full 'n' flexi manes and tails for horse avatars. 'Flow' hair replaces your tail and natural mane and comes in the 6 standard avatar colours, and is mod & copy so you can make your own alterations.

As Flow uses 32bit alpha textures it will look better with Viewer 2 horses (that use the alpha skin rather than invisiprims, which will hide any 32bit texture they overlap). The alpha-sorting visual glitch will be more apparent in lighter colours but is unavoidable in all :)

2009-10 Cross Country Championship Winners
1 January 2011

Happy new year everyone! And first off we have to congratulate the winners of our 2009-10 Cross Country Championships!

Everyone who placed first, second or third in one of our competitions this past year automatically qualified for the 2009-10 Championships - and here are the final winners.

The fastest horse and rider combination this season was the riderless Apache Bloodsong, with an incredible time of 01:30.45. Close behind in second was Lynsey Breda on Beliros with the very close time of 01:46.09, and right behind was Ruby Vandyke and Sunny, with a fantastic time of 02:17.75. Congratulations to our winners, and to everyone who entered - those were some FAST times!

The second championship was, of course, the battle for the Average Time title. This competition isn't about speed - it's about a calm, confident ride, keeping steady the whole way round, so it's not as easy as it may sound! So please give a big cheer to our winners this year, Zed Karas on Jess, who carried away first place with a time of 02:47.91. Congrats! In second is Ruby Vandyke, this time on Black Jack with 02:34.86! And very close behind in third is Assassin Bloodsong on Kholi Bey, with a very respectable 02:28.49.

Thanks again to all who entered this year. Hope to see you taking part in the new year to secure your place in the 2010-11 Championships!
